a royal party

when it comes to the royal wedding, i am a girl obsessed. it stems from a long love for all things british and that i knew prince william and catherine middleton's wedding would be spectacular. i had to invite my closest girlfriends over to watch! last night we all got dressed up, had wine, cucumber sandwiches, cupcakes and cake pops from cakelicious, and watched all the live coverage from that morning. there aren't many things i like more than wearing a dress and giant hair piece. sharon of posh veils hand made me this one of a kind piece just for my royal wedding party. isn't it perfect?!

i loved catherine and pippa middleton's dresses and of course prince william and prince harry looked handsome as always. all the royal wedding coverage reminded me of my first trip to england in 2009. i happened to arrive the day before the trooping the colour at buckingham palace. none other than the royal studs themselves stood on the balcony, so close to where i was standing! and to think, i missed my one and only chance to meet prince harry and make him fall in love with me. rats!

when bloggers meet

i was so delighted to get an invite to a blogger lunch at chill winston last weekend. i spent sunday afternoon with cee of coco and vera, veronika of girl and closet, alexandra of to vogue or bust, and lynn of hearted girl. we had some wine, appies, and lots to talk about! it was as though i'd known the girls forever as we went on about the life of a blogger (hello insomnia and taking outfit photos in public), work, fashion, and everything in between! time flew by and before we knew it, we'd been chatting for 3 hours! the day wouldn't be complete without a mini photo shoot though and of course, lots of laughs :)

i so look forward to hanging out with these girls again and to meeting more people from the vancouver blog scene. there is so much talent in this city, it's crazy!

Since I've spent the last four days moving all of my belongings from one apartment to another, my life is what some may call disorganized. I can't find any jewellery and I still have a huge basket full of laundry, so putting an outfit together for this post was quite the task. I work well under pressure though, and was determined to dress up and feature my new olive trench coat. It's so beautiful, everything a trench should be and more!

April 25th marks the 4 year anniversary of mine and Adam's very first date! Since he surprised me with tickets to Cavalia last week, I decided to treat him to a delicious meal at Nicli Antica Pizzeria this evening. If you haven't been to Nicli Antica on East Cordova, I suggest you get your little buns over there asap! This was my second dining experience at Nicli Antica Pizzeria and they once again exceeded my expectations. They do not take reservations, so expect a wait or an opportunity to stand and drink at the bar. Their perfectly executed cocktails or vast selection of wine is sure to keep you occupied! I recommend their 'Bianca' pizza for dinner, though all of their authentic Italian pizzas are worth a try. I will also brag on their behalf, that they make the best tiramisu that I have ever had! If good dessert isn't a reason to go back to a restaurant, then I don't know what is? Whether it's for a date or a friendly get together, I HIGHLY recommend Nicli Antica Pizzeria for lunch or dinner. I promise you will love it! (and no this was not sponsored...it's just that good).

a clash of colour

I love the colour blocking that I've been seeing this spring. The bold colour combinations are so fun, and I've been anxious to try it out for myself. It appears though, that I'll have to take baby steps to achieve a full colour blocking outfit. There's something intimidating by grabbing the brightest pieces in your wardrobe and wearing all of them...at the same time!



This song is on repeat right now and makes me excited for sunny weather and many more bright coloured outfits ;) Happy Thursday aka Friday.

cabin life

remember when i went to the cabin a few weeks back? that's where the last two outfit posts are from, since everyone was wondering where those cool views were. i love the city, but it's so nice to have a getaway with rolling hills and lake views. trip started with us driving two hours in the dark and pouring rain only to realize the key to the cabin was back in vancouver. we tried to turn around on what i like to call "creepy omg we're going to die serial killer road" somewhere in between chilliwack and hope, but ended up having to drive all the way to hope to be able to turn around. thankfully adam and i are pretty laid back because it was a sucky situation but we were able to laugh it off. that friday night is now known as: hope and back and back to hope, the best date everrrr!

tried again to leave saturday morning on the 3.5 hour drive to merritt. it was a winter wonderland on the coquihalla and then you emerge from the mountains into the dry dessert. it's all very strange and magical in beautiful british columbia!

i forget how breathtaking the cabin is until i'm there. the house is filled with the cutest cabin accessories and let's face it, the cabin is nicer than any house i've ever lived in. that's not even including the views of the lake. i love the cabin, i really do. we're so lucky that adam's aunt and uncle are kind enough to let family members use it throughout the year.

heather + max: an engagement

Heather and Max are the kind of people you instantly want to be friends with. Their love for each other and zest for life is utterly contagious. I met them through my friend Paula last year and when she recommended me to do their engagement photos, I was ecstatic! The two part engagement series was shot on a rainy day in their apartment complex and then at sunny Belcarra Park the following weekend. Belcarra is where Max proposed, and it was so special that they brought me back there with them to take some photos. Their other family member, Kalix the chocolate lab, was such a great sport both shoots.

If the photos don't give it away, we had a blast and I cannot wait for these two to finally get married in Mexico next month. Hope these photos make you as happy as they make me. I can't help but smile every time I look at them!
