Woohooo Black Keys!

My brother, Adam, and I went to The Black Keys show Monday night at Deer Lake Park. I love a good outdoor concert, and it was fun styling an outfit based on a concert tee!

The Black Keys put on a solid performance, ending with one of my favourites, Your Touch. My only complaint is that they have yet to play Psychotic Girl live for me! I mean, why can't they hear my request from the back of the field and take it seriously? Silly Dan and Patrick, play ma soooong.

Check out more pictures and videos from the last Black Keys show we attended last Fall :)

Just a quick hello with some photos from this weekend. Adam's brother is in town for the summer (hi Ben!) and his girlfriend is visiting for a few weeks (hi Anya!). Love showing Anya around and playing tourist in Vancouver. We were so happy we finally got some sunshine to show her how beautiful this city is!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend xo

I have quite a few weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, etc. to attend over the next year. I use these occasions as the perfect excuse to purchase new dresses (pants, skirts, blouses, purses, shoes...you get the picture). I ordered this particular dress from ModCloth specifically for a friend's wedding in August on the Sunshine Coast. Choosing a dress to wear to a wedding can be quite the art form. You want to look good, but not better than the bride and bridal party. You want to be comfortable, but still formal enough for the reception. Sexy, but cute...it's all quite tricky. I was really happy with the cut and fit of this frock though, and can't wait to wear it to the wedding this summer!

Where do you buy your summer dresses?

And what better way to bring in the first day of summer than actual sunshine and a new shade of lipstick?

I really wanted to get a bright coral lip colour, but some trends should be left to others. I looked a bit scary with fluorescent coral lips, and was adviced by my Sephora sales associate that I should stick to a slight coral tinted gloss. I settled on the Sephora brand lipstick in 'Coral Coquette' which I recommend for others who aren't ready for highlighter lips.

Thinking I'll celebrate the first day of summer with an after work bbq and a concert at a new local music venue. How will you spend your summer solstice?

There's a lot to be happy about these days. I've been working out and eating better and have actually started seeing results, one of my best friends got engaged this weekend, the Canucks are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, etc. etc.
Come to think of it, it's really been quite a stressful week LOL! But, I'm trying my hardest to get through it with a smile on my face and a positive attitude! I'm thinking that a glass of wine (or two) might bring my stress levels down ;)

What do you do to cope with a hectic week?

Kesler's rendition of Baby Got Back

posted on: June 13, 2011

I've been waiting to post this never before seen video I shot back in 2006, and I finally feel like today is the day to do it. Back in '06 my mom and I went to the Canuck's Dice and Ice Gala. They made newbie Ryan Kesler sing Sir-Mix-a-Lot's 'Baby Got Back' and I captured a little moment of it. Enjoy (and sorry for the quality)

Today could be the day that we've all been waiting for; the day that some have waited 40 years for.
I'll be downtown in the sea of blue and green cheering our boys on.

My search for the perfect envelope clutch ended when I laid eyes on this Matt & Nat Santogold Clutch. I can honestly say, it was love at first sight. The Ikat print in orange, dark turquoise and green with the black background was so...beautiful! My feelings only grew stronger when I saw this bag came with two additional straps, so I could wear it over my shoulder as well. Opened it up, and the lining is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Could this be, the perfect bag? As if I weren't already won over, I found this little baby at the Dakota Group Blowout Sample Sale. So she was a fraction of the price. I'm so sorry Visa, this one was a no brainer! And no, this was not sponsored by Matt & Nat. These words come straight from the fashion loving heart :)

sunny disposition

Ever since I discovered the styling genius on Atlantic-Pacific, I have been so motivated to create new and exciting looks. No idea how she slipped my fashion blog stalking radar, but I haven't felt this inspired in quite some time! I locked Adam out of the bedroom and spent a good chunk of my evening dancing around and putting outfits together. Are you guilty of this as well? I doubt boys could understand it, but I just love having an outfit ready for those last minute fashion emergencies!

Hope everyone is having a great week :)
