Joe Fresh Rose Gold Sequin Tank Top - now on SALE! // Black/Copper  Aritzia Wilfred Pirouette Jacket - now on SALE // Second Denim Yoga Jeans // Silver Disco Pumps from Guess (old) // Burgundy Clutch - borrowed // Purple Amethyst Ring from Front and Company // Makeup by Kahlia Adams

It has taken me years to figure out how to dress for my figure.  It's quite a challenge to balance wearing items that suit my body type, but still keep me comfortable.  Since I'm a pretty classic hourglass figure, I can usually be found rocking tops tucked into high-waisted skirts/trousers or long tops over skinny pants.

Recently The Style Common gals were challenged to explain how we'd style up this gorgeous rose gold Joe Fresh sequin tank as everyday figure-flattering wear.  I decided to play-up the length of the top and wear it over my fav pair of skinny dark denim.  To cover my arms and emphasize my smallest point - the waist, I layered on a cropped jacket (though, a cardigan would work just as well).  Threw on some sparkly heels and a clutch, et voila!  The perfect way to rock sequins out for the evening.

See how all the members of The Style Common rocked their Joe Fresh Holiday Sequins on TSC Lately!

Oh, you fancy huh?!

I was so intimidated by this fur vest last year, and this season I can't get enough of it!  Isn't it funny when that happens?  It's just so neutral and dresses up any of my long sleeve blouses.  A great investment too, believe I got it on sale last year.  Speaking of sales, I have to go.  I'm hitting up my favourite Vancouver boutiques including Barefoot Contessa, Oak+Fort, Front and Company, and The Archetype to see what kind of deals they're offering today.  Sure, I could save my Christmas money or...

Makeup by Kahlia Adams // Hair Cut by Michael at TRiM Hair Salon

{Photos by Jen of Her Waise Choice}

As of last week, my hair was in a state of emergency.  The length was so out of control.  It was at the point where only the ends would curl, I constantly found nests of knots in the back, and I was wearing my hair up in a bun more often than anyone should.  And so, I called in for backup and saw Michael at TRiM for a fresh haircut.

Most people who see me just comment on the fact that my long hair is gone, but I LOVE this change.  It's so much healthier, easier to manage, and perfect for our trip to Mexico next week.  My hair grows like a weed anyway, so in a month you won't even be able to tell I cut it :P

Did you do anything shocking (yes, this is classified as "shocking" in my world) with your hair this year?  How did yours turn out?
