i feel like a fraud.
i call myself a “fashionista” and yet, i’ve been parading around lately in leggings and rain boots. let’s take into consideration how uninspiring this weather has been. and the fact that i have a closet full of beautiful spring merchandise that is too cold to wear and a closet full of cute winter things that i am sick of wearing. i’m so ready for summer, aren’t you?
i was supposed to met up with the super talented ned aka @kingkabuz for an urban photo shoot in gastown last week. i was mid-move and quite unorganized, so i actually forgot we had planned to meet up! i was stuck wearing my rain gear for our shoot, but the truth is now out there now…that i’ve been dressing casual! at least my new hunters ($30 woot woot) were put to good use 🙂
Totally agree with you on this topsy-turvy weather. I still think your casual look is super cute… and $30 for Hunters? Awesome deal!

$30 green hunters? ridiculous!!! haha all the ones i've seen are like… $150+!
LOVE the green Hunters! I have matte black ones, but every time I see the green ones I wish I'd bought green instead.
I also fully agree on the weather… these drizzly days need to end for a few months! I'm so ready for open toed shoes and cute sundresses! My closet is full of new things it's still too cold to wear too. Bring on the Vancouver sunshine already!
We've already discussed this but you know that i'm in the same wardrobe slump. At least your casual is better than my casual (sweatpants. oops)

Is it that bad to wear leggings and rain boots? Oh my! I've sin! The Gods of fashion are going to shut my blog down, ha ha you look perfectly fine Ali! So lovely for that rainy weather! Loved the setting, wish that purple wall was outside my house, I'd shoot from there everyday!

I love it 🙂 The weather has been awful, I completely agree, although my strategy has been the opposite of yours; I've been wearing all of my new spring stuff and suffering with the cold because I'm delusional and think this might make the weather change. It has not. Seriously, though, this look pretty much exemplifies what I love about your style; the fact that you can wear Hunters, and leggings, and a wool cap, and look still look like a fashionista 🙂

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this outfit was "West Coast chic", so don't worry, you're still entirely every bit a fashionista! But yes, I dug out my leggins recently too…the weather has been straight up depressing, especially with that downpour on Saturday which I (of course) got stuck in WITHOUT an umbrella.

Nothing wrong with a casual look when the weather is so gross! I came back from NC hoping for spring to have arrived, and aside from a tulip or two, the weather is just as rainy and gross as when I left! Thus, rainboots = totally fine.
