These stupid boots.

Total impulse purchase at Winners. People scrambling over shoes, I go into crazy animal shopper mode and “must have” these guys. Take them home and realize that I never buy anything in brown. Have a huge complex about wearing black and brown together (at least in this shade of chocolate brown anyway), so I think I’ve literally worn these twice! But, it was really fun to force myself to make an outfit with them today and I think I feel more confident that I could wear them more often. At least I learned my lesson and will never opt for brown shoes and will probably be staying away from Winners this month 😉

I've got a brown/black complex too, but the brown/blue combo is GORGEOUS!!!

And I love the jacket too. <3

I'm crazy about your mustard blazer!

Love the outfit! haha, I hate when I buy things and go home realizing I will barely ever wear them. Your February challenge is truly an inspiration to all those pieces at the back of my closet collecting dust.

Looking smashing as always Alicia 🙂 And the mustard blazer is phenom.

lady, you crack me up. I love the way you write because I can imagine exactly the way you would be saying all of that, which makes it even funnier!

totally understand your complex about wearing black and brown together, it's just too "muddy" and weird. I'm a little iffy on navy and black but better with the black and blue than with the brown.

love the floral print top with the golden yellow blazer! you look gorgeous! xo

love the floral top and yellow blazer combination.

i also have brown impulse-buy boots that i regret. i went home and realized, i didn't really like the colour brown.

I think I might be the only person over the black and brown thing. I mean, I wouldn't wear a chocolate brown dress with a black belt but as far as accessories go… I don't mind.

Really like that blazer! Pretty colour.

I love this outfit. I'm the exact same way about impulse must have moments–but this outfit is the perfect mix. Love this thrifted blazer!

  • colleen February 7, 2011 at 12:41 am

they look great. i would have bought them too. if you aren't feeling it though you can always get a shoe place to dye them black for you.

  • liz February 7, 2011 at 1:50 am

Mixing black and brown makes your life a lot easier, I love it 🙂 I like this bright outfit too, the sweater is just gorgeous!

Such a pretty outfit! That blazer is awesome.
I do that as well- if I have a piece that I never wear I make (MAKE!) myself make an outfit for it. It's kind of fun and eases the guilt of buying something and then having it rot away in my closet! xx

Haha I'm the same way with brown things–I always think I'll find a way to make it work but then those items rarely get worn. The boots look great with the vintage yellow blazer here though.
