Holiday 2015

December!!!!  ‘Tis the season for party dresses and Christmas movies, baking cookies and an abundance of family time.  Or at least, that’s what I plan to do for the next month!  Anyone with me?!

I’ve finally learned my lesson and am going for total comfort at all holiday parties this year.  Which, is one big reason why this black maxi dress is ideal.  I paired it with a leather jacket and sensible pumps, but since this LBD is so versatile, I also wore this with black booties and a hat to a more casual function.  Love a dress that goes the extra mile!

The photo below features me holding an empty Coupe Glass (available for purchase from Indigo’s Holiday Collection here) which I didn’t think of at the time, but it actually signifies my holiday party policy this year, which I tested out this past weekend.  As you can imagine, my allergy to alcohol is not ideal.  I credit my half Chinese genetics, but I might have both of my parents to thank for this one.  One drink, heck, sometimes even one sip and I my body temperature rises to near-fever levels, my upper body breaks out into red patches, my asthma is induced, and I become dizzy and/or nauseous.   And yet, since it’s so socially important to sip on a beverage, I usually just say yes and then immediately regret it.  No more, my friends.  This month, I’ve decided to say NO (x’d arms emoji) to drinking just because people expect me to.  Sure, it’ll probably mean that everyone assumes I’m pregnant for the next little while, but with this figure, people often think I am anyway.  At least this way, we can fuel the rumours…right?!  I’m excited to challenge myself with a sober December and hoping that this can become an ongoing policy.
