This outfit screams fall (and a slight attitude, but I blame that on the sunglasses).  Which, might seem strange in the middle of summertime, it’s not quite so here in Vancouver.  We’ve had non stop chilly, overcast days that feel much more like October than July.  I haven’t minded though, I quite like autumn and a bit of rain.  The heat and uninterrupted sunshine always comes back again (in fact, it’s already here).  I’m sure we can all use our imagination with this look, because if you ditch the leather jacket and swap out the booties for sandals, it’s still a functional summer ensemble.  Actually, this might be the perfect seasonal transition outfit.  Is it too early to be posting this? Andddd now I’m questioning everything!  Oh well, enough small talk about the weather.

The last week has had some unexpected curveballs.  Sad news yesterday, as my Godfather and dad’s best friend, Uncle Daryl passed away.  Cancer is so aggressive and scary, it all happened quickly and yet for him, I’m sure slow and painfully.  Makes you realize how short our time here can be.  I was inspired, and hope you’ll do the same, to reach out to someone I’d been meaning to message/see.

I’ve also had a few last minute campaigns, which have been really fun, can’t wait to share more soon.  I  spent Thursday and Friday last week away from the computer because I somehow managed to GIVE MYSELF A CONCUSSION.  Oh God, it makes me laugh just thinking about it.  You see, I was wearing a strapless bra and stopped to pull ‘the girls’ up.  I have a lot to maneuver around, so I REALLY used force and give it my all.  While my right hand gripped the left cup of my strapless bra, my hand unexpectedly slipped upwards and smashed into my chin.  My jaw snapped closed, biting a small section of my cheek in the process, and my head went backwards in a whiplash-like moment.  Yep.  I basically punched myself in the face.  It’s a wonder that I didn’t make it in the ballet world with my grace and coordination!  I had an instant headache that lasted for two days, including a bit of fogginess and trouble concentrating.  I insisted I was fine and never ended up going to the doctor, so hopefully I AM okay, but I really do think it was a concussion.  Sigh, just another day in the life.  Punching myself in the face and giving myself concussions.  At least it’s funny because it’s literally ridiculous.

I’m sorry to hear about your godfather passing away. it’s never an easy thing to watch people you love leave us.

and I love your story about your concussion. I bet if you did go to the doctor, they would have a great chuckle at how you got it haha.

Total attitude! Love the outfit! I could use a couple of cooler days here in Montreal. I’m dying in the heat and running out of work-appropriate sundresses haha
