Kits Shoot - Photo by Ned

I really thought I could never wear a Maxi skirt. It’s the whole Little House on the Prarie vibe, plus I’m of average height and let’s face it, I have curves. I tried many styles and decided that I could (I hope?) pull off a maxi skirt that was flowy and romantic. It had to have movement, that’s for sure! I stumbled upon this lil number at H&M a few weeks back. I opted for the black colour because I’m a chicken it would go with more of my blouses. Not an ideal shade for summer, but I haven’t seen summer yet, so I think we’re safe.

A special thanks to Ned for taking all of these photos (except the close up, that was all self portrait action) and being such an awesome photog. As well as Niki for the awesome DIY turband project.

  • Cee May 31, 2011 at 1:14 am

Look at you, miss Alicia, all mysteriously and bohemian. I cannot get over how much these shots look like they fell right out of a magazine, especially the close-up- so impressed that you took it yourself! You're the only girl I know who could possibly manage to wear a turband and look amazing, not awkward, and you pull off the maxi with flair. I was totally chicken to trend them, too, but they're actually surprisingly easy to pull off. And oh so comfortable, too!

It was fabulous to see you yesterday- and oh how I loved your highlighter shirt 🙂

Alicia, you've just taught me something pretty slick…i didn't know "turband" was the correct term. nice one lades, thanks for giving me the pc version of this awesome accessory! you are rockin' the look seriously well. you've pulled off the maxi total, i love this ones airy, wafty look. it works for summer too, being that it's somewhat sheer, good call.

the shoot is a joy to behold, Ned did a stellar job for you.

i heard you're organizing the next get-together and am so excited for it. missing this last one was hard to take, i was feelin' the blues but it did save my ass this week with potential overflows. thanks for your comment love! most appreciated. ♥
