Though it’s still a few months away, we’re really starting to get excited about our upcoming trip to Europe.  Visiting friends and family in England and then venturing over to France for 5 days in Paris and 4 days somewhere in the south of France (exact location is still tbd).

I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop surrounded by every Paris travel book you could imagine, lost in numbered districts and hotel options.  We’ve never been to France and are definitely feeling a little…lost. Have you ever been to Paris and/or the south of France?  I would be so appreciative of any recommendations you can offer.  Especially when it comes to accommodations, delicious restaurants, unique shopping, or just generally special spots/views we simply MUST see!  Also, we’re a little overwhelmed about where to go in the south of France, so if you’ve been somewhere great, please let us know!

Thank you in advance for your help.  Let me know in the comments below or email me aliciafashionista@gmail.com with any tips/advice. xoxo

One thing that we loved doing when we were there was the Fat Tire Bike Tour. Its the best way to tour the city. They offer both a day and night tour and we did both as they take you to different places. The night tour ends with a boat ride down the Seine. I also highly recommend having a picnic at the Eiffel tower. All you'll need is a baguette, cheese, fruit and a bottle of wine! Have a great trip!

You will have so much fun!! When my boyfriend and I went to Paris we stayed in the Latin Quarter at the Hotel des Arenes. It was fairly inexpensive and clean.

Menton is the cutest little town in the south of France! It's about 15 minutes away from Monaco and it's the last city until the Italian border! Plus accommodation is really reasonable!

I went to Paris a few years ago and there was especially one place, wich kept in my mind since then: Montmartre! You REALLY have to go there! There are sweet little markets, street-artists and many corners with little shops for souvenirs or food. The food there also isn´t that expensive as in the rest of the city. And then you just have to follow the steps up to come to Sacre-Coer, the white Basilica on the top of Montmartre. Even if you´re not very interestet in visiting a Church, I can recommend going there, because from the platforms up there you can see the whole city of Paris! A really great view and of course a very nice place to shoot some pictures 😉

When I was in Paris, my friend and I did this evening: http://www.viator.com/tours/Paris/Eiffel-Tower-Paris-Moulin-Rouge-Show-and-Seine-River-Cruise/d479-2050TEM
It includes dinner on the Eiffel Tower, a Seine River Cruise and a show at the infamous Moulin Rouge. It's a bit pricey, but turned out to be totally worth it. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
    Have a great trip!

District 7 is the fashion district right? That was where we stayed when I went a few years ago and it was just a really cool area full of lots of (expensive mostly, but some not so expensive) shopping. Most of everything I did was work related so I really didn't get much of a chance to do too many touristy things, but we did do a boat ride down the Seine and it was beautiful!

Also, like 3 people in our group of 30ish got pickpocketed (and really badly too) so be really careful of that! Don't have expensive things at easy grabs. One girl I worked with had her ipod picked right out of her hands when she was on the train just before the doors closed… and a few others lost thousands of dollars/visas/passports etc. So very small purses or close to body things and try not to look too touristy 🙂 I was so nervous of getting pick pocketed I must have looked like the biggest tourist ever!

Also, get some rock salt from there (SO good), definitely eat lots of bread and cheese, followed with wine of course (so lose like 20lbs before you go so you don't feel guilty when you come back lol) … and I've always heard the Sacre Coeur has an amazing view, and the Mona Lisa is incredibly overrated and surprisingly small… though I have seen neither.

Nice is sooo beautiful – I liked it better than Cannes, but you can still drive to Cannes and Saint Tropez from Nice. Find somewhere to stay near the water – it's worth it to wake up and hear the waves every morning.

I'm lost in the beautiful memories I have now…
