of course after days and days of glorious sunshine, it starts pouring rain on the night that i’m attending an outdoor concert. and not just any concert. it’s a florence and the machine concert. if you aren’t aware of my florence obsession, you can read about it here, here, and here.
but, you know what? i think florence welch performing the best from ceremonials and lungs outdoors in the pouring rain is going to be incredibly epic. i’m off to slap on some boots, a cute dress, and a big smile on my face. i’ll be the girl in the live nation vip area (that’s right, thanks for the hookup, miss paula) singing at the top of her lungs, dancing like she doesn’t give a whatttt, and jumping up and down while screaming and unnecessarily waving her arms in the air. should be a good time 😉

as someone who has been called mary poppins many, many times, i’m all about the casual tote bag lately. perhaps not a winner when it comes to compartmentalizing items, the tote bag has appeal in many other areas. like, perhaps, the fact that i can fit all of the contents of my purse into this convenient and comfortable fabric sac? i couldn’t possible leave the house without my blackberry, ipad, notebook and pen, wallet, keys, gum, lipstick, glasses, sunglasses, and dslr camera. and those are only the essentials! see, i told you. mary friggin poppins.
Stylists often do something similar during photo shoots, and I’ve spent obscene amounts of time taping the soles of shoes so they look unworn after the shoot. Let me tell you, this is such a great idea. I’ve got my first pair on order and can’t wait to slap them on my favourite shoes!

the past few weeks have been full of excitement, as it’s almost wedding weekend for my best friend and the busiest capital Q has ever been! but i welcome the madness, as the sun is shining and i’m even rocking somewhat of a tan. thumbs up Vancouver! these warmer temperatures have also allowed me to finally wear this beautiful linen covet dress! in my favourite summer colour (looks back at the last 3 posts) and with the cutest nautical rope belt, i also dig its longer hi-lo hem for full coverage in that summer breeze. really, what’s not to love?

a few weeks ago, i attended a press conference announcing that fashion’s night out is finally coming to this wonderful city! vancouver celebrated in style at the shanghri-la hotel with appies, cocktails and a beautiful patio fashion show showcasing local designer jason matlo’s fall/winter ’12 collection. very excited for more details of the september 6th event to unravel AND that i got a sweet shout out from FASHION magazine about the event! look how close my name is to carly pope’s. was a huge fan of ‘popular’ back in the late 90’s!
