aritzia fall 2015, blanket scarf, bailey nelson sunglasses, fall pastelsLeaving town for a few weeks is always a bit strange.  It feels like you’re disconnected just enough from home, but as though everything is on pause until you’re back again.  Returning is like emerging from a deep, dreamlike slumber.  Distant vacation memories still lingering, making you question whether it even happened at all.  Adam and I are back from Italy and have seemingly returned to an entirely different season.  We’re lucky enough to live in Vancouver, a place where the seasons are mild but very true to their definition.  I feel thrown off that we didn’t see the end of the summer through to give it a proper West Coast goodbye.  We’ve missed the beginning of the falling leaves, and the hustle and bustle of back to school.  My closet is all kinds of confused.  Pretty sure I just spent three weeks purchasing summery things!  The weather far too warm to even consider what that cool autumn breeze could feel like on the skin.

Alicia Fashionista Wedding Video, The Heart Behind It, Best Wedding Videographer, Vancouver Wedding Video, North Arm Farm Wedding

Everything to do with this darn wedding has felt absolutely out-of-body surreal.  I spent so many years watching stranger’s wedding videos (I hope that isn’t as creepy as it sounds) that it barely feels real that we’re actually viewing our OWN wedding.  When the heck did that all happen?!

Be sure to click through to see our amazing highlight video by the talented Rachel of The Heart Behind It.  Trust me, you don’t want to miss it!

Words cannot describe my excitement for my absolute favourite season!  The fact that we’re already able to talk pre-fall fashion makes my heart flutter.  All I want to do right now is shop.  Any spare time I have, I actually lock myself in the apartment and force myself to clean/tidy because otherwise I will jump in that car and head straight to the nearest clothing store.  Can’t wait to carefully put together an autumn shopping list and gradually knock pieces off.  Let the fall closet planning begin!

FASHION NEWS ALERT: The 70’s trend isn’t going anywhere!  That’s right folks.  Fall 2015 is going to pay homage to the glorious decade with suede mini skirts, a ton of floppy hats, vintage patterns, and fiercely tall boots.  Now, that’s my kind of autumn attire!  To Vogue Or Bust are still hanging on to the last little bit of summer here, with some 1970’s inspired outfits that can easily be pre-fall by switching out footwear with ankle boots and adding a jacket.

4 Reasons Why You Need A Day-Of Wedding Coordinator

August 25, 2015

wedding planning, day of coordinator, why you need a day of coordinator, best wedding planner vancouver

The one piece of advice I heard on repeat from past brides, was to hire a Day-Of Coordinator.   I think many of us go into wedding planning with an independent and ambitious spirit, but truthfully, you can’t do it all.  I know it can be really tough to stick to your vision and know where to allocate your limited funds, but it’s physically impossible for you to assume any other role on your wedding day other than bride or groom (or mother of the bride, or wedding guest, or anyone else that you try to give this responsibility to).  Sure, hiring a Day-Of can sound like an added cost, but I’m here to tell you with as much emphasis as possible that it’s worth EVERY penny.  You can’t put a price tag on your sanity.  You NEED a Day-Of Wedding Coordinator.

Pieces Of 70’s Flare

August 21, 2015

how to wear flares, best curvy fashion bloggers, vancouver fashion blog, how to style flaresAs seen on The Everygirl (YAY!!!!!)

We’ve all been guilty of it.  A hot trend hits NYFW, blogs, and magazines and we’re overcome with a sense of NEED.  This often leads to us to impulse buy and sometimes it’s for such a short lived trend!  These days, I’m trying to be a little more conscious of my spending and am aiming for smarter purchases that truly reflect my personal style.  I’m also doing my best to re-wear as often as possible.

My good friend Alexandra of To Vogue Or Bust and I decided to tackle the 70’s trend with two different looks and I’m proud to say that I was able to do so without splurging on anything new!  Something as broad as “70’s style” has the ability to be created with a modern twist, and hopefully with items you already own or can find second-hand!  Take a look:
