Call me a brat, but I may or may not have “guided” my parents toward my favourite UK boutique. And by guided, I mean maps, pictures, and detailed instructions LOL. My mom was super sweet and even tried the items on to make sure they’d fit me 🙂 Thanks again ma
I don’t know if it really was the perfect Sunday or it just seemed that way because we had another day off on Monday. Or maybe Sunday seems so lovely because my car was broken into on Monday night. But that’s a whole other post in itself, wouldn’t you say?

Ryan Adams – Call Me On Your Way Back Home
I was first introduced to Haul videos by the YouTube obessed Kisekae last year. She encouraged me to try one, but I was just so timid about doing it. I looove posing for a camera, but as soon as someone points a video camera in my face I freeze up and don’t know what to do with myself!I compare it to Chandler on Friends when he has to pose for pictures…
But, last night I went shopping with my co-worker and when I got home felt like giving this haul business a try. This was my first attempt, after pretending to talk to the camera for about 10 minutes to calm myself down (really, if someone had seen me they’d think I was crrrazy). My voice sounds a little bit strange, especially when I say “s”, but that’s what I get for using a digital cam to make a video.
Hope you enjoy the video, let me know what you think!
Adam and I stayed out in the burbs this weekend to keep my brother company while my parents are away. I was looking through my old clothes there in search of something “new” (forgotten so more like new again) to wear. I stumbled upon a box of shoes and rediscovered my absolute FAVOURITE pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. This particular pair of shoes were found at a Yaletown boutique back in 2006 for $19 (on sale of course). They are the perfect height, just the right amount of vintage inspiration, and unbelievably comfortable. I had to retire them a few years ago because I wore them down so bad that the back of them are completely torn up. Unfortunately, I got wrapped up in happy shoe memories and decided to wear them out on Saturday night, despite their ragged appearance. And guess what? I actually got compliments on them!!! (but, keep in mind that I strategically placed myself against a wall all evening so no one would see the back of them :P) Seychelles are one of my favourite shoe brands, wearing them is like walking on a cloud and I’m so glad I was reminded of how great their footwear is. Note to self: go buy another pair of Seychelles!
I have to laugh at the photo above because Adam and I look like total nerds and my bro looks good without trying…jerk! We wet to the Arcade Fire show at Pacific Coliseum on Tuesday because they’re one of my brother’s favourite bands. I was expecting a totally mellow performance and was very much surprised by their energy. Though my video taping skills aren’t the best, my two videos from the show are surprisingly good sound quality. If you have a chance to see them live, I suggest you do so. Or just live vicariously through the YouTube videos…either or.

Speaking of challenges, can someone explain to me how to dress for Vancouver weather lately? It’s not Summer, it’s not Fall, it’s “Sumall”!!! Tights? Bare legs? Jacket? Sleeveless? Sunglasses? Umbrella? No one knows what to do. It’s just a bit of a problem when you’re trying to throw together an outfit in 5 minutes! Ahh Indian Summer, how you make my blogging life even more difficult!
Matthew Good – Strange Days
This is yet another casual look, even though I have a million dressier outfits just begging to be photographed. Half the trouble of outfit posts is finding someone who wants to photograph your outfit. Really, it’s a pretty good business idea to be a freelance fashion blog photographer because I’m sure there are plenty of people who would call! Anyways, this whole look came about because I was at my parents house taking jewellery from my mom that she never wears. I scored that lovely gold Hawaiian leaf necklace, some authentic 80’s earrings, and some funky brooches. Thanks ma!
