Well my darlings, I am off to the land of Full House!!! And this mini vacation comes at the perfect time, since work has been beyond demanding lately. I’m excited to spend time with my family and Adam, exploring around San Fran…eeeep!
I’ll be tweeting throughout the trip, so you can follow my adventures here. Have a great long weekend and I’ll be back soon enough XOXO
I’ve been in kind of a wardrobe slump lately. I blame this mostly on the fact that our Vancouver weather can’t make up its mind, and that my clothes are currently unorganized. Every time I go to my closet to choose an outfit I just stand there thinking about how I’m sick of everything I own and want new items to choose from. I can’t decide if this is because I actually don’t have anything I’d like to wear, or me longing for Fall weather and refusing to dress for sunshine. I’m desperate for a closet makeover and to sell all of my unworn/barely worn clothing items that I don’t need anymore. One of these days I’ll take care of it, even though I’ve been saying this for months!

I’m back from Seattle at my very first real stagette experience. Tons of photos and stories to share with you tonight, if I can muster up the energy. I tried to spend my money wisely in Seattle, but it’s all easier said than done. Nordstrom Rack, The Outlets, Anthropologie? That’s like dangling candy in front of a child!!! But I’m only days from leaving for San Fransisco, who I’m hoping will deliver amazing clothing boutiques and stores. Speaking of which, does anyone have any suggestions for my San Fran trip? I would love recommendations to restaurants, stores, neighbourhoods…anything 🙂
I just wanted to apologize to all of you lovely readers for not visiting your blogs lately. I have been sooo busy at work and in life for the last few weeks, I haven’t had time for anything. Though I do love to leave you comments, it’s really just that I feel left out. I don’t know what fab new outfits you’ve put together, what gorgeous new photos you’ve taken, or what is new in your lives! I’m making it my personal mission to stop by your sites this week, no matter what!!!
I have been following Twenty-Something Theatre a few of its 5 years running. There are close ties with Sabrina Evertt, the Founder and Creative Producer of the theatre company, as she is the sister of Andy (one of Adam’s bffs if you don’t read this blog enough!) Adam’s Dad has also been involved with contributions in the past, and we always try to make it out to support Sabrina’s work. Clearly Twenty-Something Theatre has found a niche market in its 20-35 year old actors and audience, with smart marketing like Twitter and a Blog to keep up with their social networking obsessed twenty-somethings (Who? ..Me?)
Anyone who is at all into theatre knows the value in a good quality play. When we arrived at Studio 16, which is tucked away between Granville Street and Fir at 7th, the venue was noticeably small. It’s attached to a quaint and extremely busy restaurant, with only a small table at the front with concession items, including beer and wine that they allow you to take into the theatre! The inside of Studio 16 felt like I’d just stepped into a small New York theatre with only about 6 rows of seating, forcing you to feel like you’re practically in the play as well. The intimate setting was perfect for this production, which I decided that I like more than most movies I’ve seen lately. Within the first 15 minutes, Blue Surge had me completely encompassed in the happenings of the actors, and no…it wasn’t because of the full frontal male nudity 😛
The actors were all so accurately cast, their lines and mannerisms executed perfectly and most importantly, believable. For $18, you wouldn’t expect the attention to detail that Blue Surge delivers, but as I’ve mentioned, my expectations were exceeded. Every last set component from the lighting and music, to their costume details and props made the play’s atmosphere worth far more than you pay for.
I don’t usually shamelessly promote like this, but I enjoyed the evening so much I felt like I had to blog about it RIGHT away to infom my Vancouver readers! I do honestly recommend it for an inexpensive night of laughs, drama, and fun, but it’s only playing for another week and a half so get your tickets right meow!

Sabrina Evertt is the Producer and Director of Blue Surge, as well as Founder and Artistic Producer of Twenty-Seomthing Theatre. Sabrina isn’t just a pretty face, this girl has drive, creativity, and an abundance of talent. Plus, I may or may not have been in love with her outfit choice for the play’s premiere. The romantic ruffle dress, her black t-strap 20’s inspired shoes, and her double key necklaces…I die! Great work Sabrina, the plays just keep getting better!
Blue Surge is playing at Studio 16, on West 7th (just off Granville Street) from August 26th to September 5th Tuesday-Sunday at 8 pm. More information here.
I have been up since 5 am and shocked that I’m still awake right now typing this. Actually, Jersey Shore is probably the main reason that I’m up right now. Bah, I’m so ashamed of my “reality tv” addiction lately!!!
Anyways, we had our big Fall/Winter 2010 Photo Shoot this morning at 6 am in Gastown. I made the big mistake of not preparing my outfit the night before so I showed up in a skirt and t shirt with flats. It was sooo incredibly cold all day and it rained for the last 3 hours haha!! At least I was at a fashion shoot so there were sweaters and jackets I could borrow to keep warm.
We had almost the exact same team as last time, with photographer Candace Meyer and stylist Tracey Pincott who are both so awesome to work with. This was my favourite photo shoot that I’ve ever helped with, Gastown was just the perfect backdrop. And I have a total crush on Fall clothes 🙂
Here’s a little behind the scenes look at the shoot. Enjoy my lovelies xoxo

I met Carolina, Vanessa, and Brandi at Society in Yaletown for a much needed girl’s night. We were lucky enough to snag a seat outside, where we got to catch up on gossip, hear about Lina’s trip to China, and get the details on B’s latest dating adventures. I’d never been to Society before, but I highly recommend it! My pizza looked so good that the table of girls beside us asked me what I was eating! We even got a chance to go see Carolina’s apartment and pay a visit to J and Pinky.
This morning I went to leave for work and my car didn’t start. It wasn’t surprising, considering I accidentally leave my car lights on all the time. BCAA saved the day, but then I was told I had to drive around for 2 hours so you can imagine how late for work I was! I think I’m going to blame Friday the 13th for any unusual events today.
It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend though, so I hope you all have a chance to get outside and enjoy it XOXO
I haven’t been getting any sleep this week and it has definitely caught up to me. I spent all of yesterday thinking that it was Wednesday, but it was in fact still the beginning of the week. So now I feel like I’ve lived through Wednesday twice! Not fun.
I know it’s so important to get a good night sleep, but I just can’t seem to settle down at bed time. That’s when I get all of my energy! I’ve been this way since I was a baby. Maybe I’m just part owl 😛
What do you find helps you sleep? Tea? Counting Sheep? I’m desperate for ideas!!!
Ever since the challenge, I’ve been really good about planning my outfit the night before rather than scrambling around early in the morning. This would make sense for someone like myself who is apparently nocturnal. Although it’s so different dressing with so many articles of clothing and pairs of shoes. It makes the outfit deciding process a lot longer!
This printed top is actually a form fitting knit dress, but I thought I would get a lot more mileage out of it if I could double it as a shirt. This was also my first time wearing the orange sling back kitten heels. I scooped those up at Portobello Market, but with the European sizing confusion I somehow left with a size too small. I squished my feet into them for the whole day at work though! Ahh, the things we do for fashion!

I am so excited to announce that I’ve been chosen as The Style Spy‘s Girl Of The Week! It’s an incredible honour, thank you so much Nicole and all the girls over at The Style Spy. Click on the picture below to read my Q&A about fashion, beauty, and my guilty pleasures…
I’ll be taking a break from blogging this weekend to recuperate from my 30 days of craziness. My mom and I are going to Whistler for a little girls weekend away and some r & r 🙂 Hope you all have a fantastical weekend!
I really wanted to do something super fun and wild and crazy for my last outfit, so I looked to Whitney Port for inspiration. This brought me to incorporate a hipster bun (or cinnamon bun hehe) and some mustard yellow into an outfit, et voila! The feather piece on my vintage blazer is actually a hair piece. The hair clip part was falling off, so I just pulled it off completely and safety pinned it to the lapel of the blazer. It’s not easy trying to make a mustard yellow blazer look different from when I wore it only a few days ago!!!!
I have sat here for quite a while just staring at these pictures trying to figure out what to say. I think I’m blogged out from posting so much over the past few days. Here we are at Day 30, the most important day of them all, and I’m at a loss for words.
I suppose the first place to start is to say thank you. Thank you so much Kendi for being a daily inspiration with your outfit photos and hilariously witty commentary. If you hadn’t invited all of us to join then I would have never met so many other amazing bloggers from all over the world! That brings me to saying thanks to all the people who have religiously followed me these past 30 days to see what I’ve come up with. I’m still amazed that people even care, but if I can inspire you or even just make you smile, then that makes me incredible happy! I’d also like to say merci beaucoup to my friends and family for taking photos and being supportive, as well as all the followers, commenters, retweeters, etc. etc. A big internet hug, you all ROCK 🙂
30 days of not shopping has been the best thing that could have happened to me (and my bank account) this summer. I am taking a moment to admit to you that I have a serious shopping addiction. Not a ha-ha I love shopping and buy a lot, I mean like full on addiction. It was time to stop this now, rather than letting it spiral out of control for the next 10 years. I want to be proud of what I buy, rather then feeling pangs of guilt every time I look at my overflowing closet.
The 30 for 30 challenge certainly hasn’t cured me. I went into Barefoot Contessa a few days ago (which is a whole other story to come later) and instantly felt the addiction. My face got hot as I filled with panic and anxiety. I wanted to look at everything in the store, my brain quickly calculating how much I could spend on new clothes and the stunning jewellery the day after the challenge was over. It took a lot of strength to leave the store empty handed, without even trying anything on. Once I stepped outside, my head cleared and I was brought back to reality. I didn’t need anything new right now, and if I did want anything new I was to save up and wait to purchase.
In order to continually try to save money and improve my spending habits I have set boundaries. I will try to keep the ban in place until I go to San Fransisco in September. If I absolutely feel the need to break the no-shopping rules, then I cannot purchase the item until I’ve left the store and thought about it for a few days. The worst thing that could happen is that it could sell out, and then so what? It wasn’t meant to be!
I’m so impressed that the challenge forced me to realize how easy it is to remix the clothing you already own. I look forward to posting more outfits that are just items from my wardrobe, and I SERIOSULY can’t wait to wear my other pairs of shoes haha!!!!

Miss Melissa finished the challenge a day earlier than I did, so yesterday we met up to do a little Fort Langley photo shoot. She brought balloons to celebrate, make sure you check out her outfit post here! I hadn’t been to Fort Langley since I was in grade 5, so it was very nice to go back and remember its charm!
So, every time I saw someone yesterday they’d be sure to mention how much they loved my earrings bla bla bla. I usually don’t know what to say back to compliments except to tell people where I got the item they’ve pointed out. Naturally, I responded to everyone by explaining that I got them at Wal Mart, excited to see the shock on their faces!
When I got home last night I stood in the kitchen talking to my roomie, and while she was telling me about her day I decided to take my earrings out. Turns out one of my earrings was completely missing the bottom half of the earring. So now I can’t help but think that people felt like they had to comment on my earrings because one was a stud and one was a chandelier, and that’s when I’d gush about how I found them at Wal Mart of all places, and they’d be looking at me thinking obviously you got them at Wal Mart, they’ve fallen apart?
Haha, and the sad part is that I’m just upset they broke because I really like them 😛
