Everything is awesome and from Front and Company
This post is in honour of The World Cup. Not really, but we did happen to take these photos on a soccer (football) field. Very Bend It Like Beckham – but like, the scene where they get mini makeovers and go clubbing and Keira Knightley wears that totally late 90’s backless crop top. I love that movie, such a classic. Anyway, another look from the amazing day of styling fun with Front and Company. I never in a million years thought I could wear an a-line lace dress, nevermind one with a dropped hem! It really does come down to trying styles on to learn what is figure flattering. Which isn’t always set in stone, as this really is something that can aadjust with different trends and any change in your body shape. Maybe some people never change clothing sizes (luuuucky), but I’m not one who is blessed with the ability to still be able to fit into my jeans from high school. And yes, I do have a pair of size 28 low waist, no pocket jeans in a bin under my bin that I am determined to one day put on after losing an obscene amount of weight in a short period of time for my very own Miranda-esque moment a la Sex and The City. The pipe dream.
What I’m really here to say is that WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go to Front and Company and enter to WIN a $100 gift card so you can go buy this lace dress fo yo self. It’s the very last day to enter this awesome giveaway, so you better act fast!

When Kate from O My Heart tweeted us that she was going to be vacationing on the West Coast, Melissa and I KNEW we had to meet up. After all, Seattle is only a border crossing and a few hours away! We left on a Wednesday morning, coffees and passports in hand for the mini road trip to Seattle. The time absolutely flew by, which is what happens when you trap two chatty bffs in a car together. And then, taking the usual blogger meet-up to the next level, we met up with Kate and her beau for a delicious brunch on Capital Hill. It was so great catching up and hearing all about their travels together. Kate is just the sweetest, it was great to see her again!
After our American meal, Melissa and I made a quick stop at the Seattle Premium Outlets (as you do). We both left with some great J.Crew finds and then it was time to head home. It was a completely random/awesome/fun way to spend a Wednesday and I am just so happy to have been able to spend it with two of my favourite blondes!
(available at their Vancouver pop-up shop June 11-18)
I’m a huge fan of local online retailer Young & Only and am SO excited to give you the opportunity to get to shop their amazing collection! Three lucky winners will get a $50 gift card to spend at Young & Only. The store credit can be used online or at their upcoming Chinatown Pop-Up Shop. Either way, I encourage you to visit them while they’re in town. I got to play dress up with a few of their current pieces and absolutely fell in love. I really think you will too! Just hop on over to the Young & Only site and leave a comment below telling us how you’d spend your Y&O gift card. The rest of the Rafflecopter giveaway details are below, good luck!
I also got to have a little chat with the Young & Only team. You can read all about it on the Y&O blog!
Is there any better combination?! The moment I put on this skirt from Beautulleful, I just want to jeté and pas de cha my way through life. Which, is a completely normal reaction, I’m sure. Couldn’t wait to style it up. I’ve got another outfit in mind for a night out dancing that involves a crop top and some super killer heels. In other news, I literally cannot walk past peonies right now without purchasing some. They just call my name and I become weak to them. I’m thinking that next year I should just save up a specific budget for peony season!
Hope you all had a great weekend, happy Monday xo

Spring layering is always a bit trickier. You can go from shivering to overheated in minutes. On cooler days, my go-to is just exactly this. A cute pair of booties with thin denim, a tank, and a jacket of some kind. That way, if the sun decides to come out, it’s easy enough to shed the jacket and get those arms a bit of vitamin d. I also swamp out the boots for slip on shoes sometimes, just depends on whether we’ve had rain or not. It’s also fun to throw in a bright bag, especially when you end up with such a dark colour palette. But, hopefully we get another heatwave soon and I can forget about layering all together!
The Whole Life Challenge is still going strong. Exercise is always my struggle, so I’m thinking about joining a Barre class or something so that I can remain accountable and get into some more active habits. I’ve kept the clean eating up though, which has been over 3 weeks now and I still feel a world of difference. To be honest, I don’t know if I’ll be able to go back to my old ways. Except chocolate. I’ll never leave you again, chocolate – we’re meant to be together! Anyway, in my search a healthy ‘fast food’ option last week, I discovered the glory that is Whole Foods. I’d been in before with a friend, but hadn’t done any shopping and healthy eating was a distant dream at the time. Needless to say, I hit their salad bar hard and even found bouquets of peonies for just $10. Plus, the woman at the checkout voted me the most fashionable of the day. Oh yes, that Whole Foods sure knows how to win a gal over!
