Life Vancouver

1994 is back in style

June 2, 2011
With the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994, this city has literally turned green and blue. I thought I’d dig up my old memorabilia from grade 2, as we apparently spent our days in class talking hockey. We were to write a story based only on the title ‘the Canucks will win’. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but my story is damn good. I do apologize for the spelling errors. I clearly wasn’t an academically advanced second grader.

The Canucks will win (1994)

I now leave you with the lyrics to our original song ‘The Canucks Came Back’ in the tune of ‘The Cat Came Back’ 🙂

Ha ha, too cute! Go Canucks! I'm glad there's a Canadian team in the finals. I remember when I was living in Vancouver a few years ago and Vancouver was in the semi-finals with Edmonton, the fans were intense! Of course I was cheering for the Oilers though ; )

Oh my gosh, I am dying. This is the best post ever… between the "all the cunucks cards ever", the "well ok great" and the "We won 4 games. Now we won the Stanley Cup" I am literally laughing out loud. You are the cutest. And your handwriting is SUPER impressive for a second grader! Holy!

This reads a lot like many of the stories I wrote in elementary school, only mine were always about gymnasts, not hockey players 🙂 Although with Winnipeg getting a hockey team again, I have been reliving some of my childhood hockey fervour. I can't help wondering if my parents still have my old jersey from when I was in grade four 😉
