Remember that iconic bright blue Issa London wrap dress that Kate Middleton sported for the royal engagement announcement?  Well lucky for us, Issa London recently teamed up with Banana Republic to create a limited edition pre-fall collection!  There’s much to love about this dress.  The fabric is the kind that you could crumple in a ball, throw in a suitcase, and it would still emerge looking unwrinkled and fabulous.  AND it’s probably one of the top 5 most flattering things I’ve ever put on.  I mean, it’s pretty obvious that they had me in mind when they made this.  Seriously, like a glove people!  Though, I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s the case for almost any size.  It’s a definite contender for the sisterhood of the travelling dress.
Speaking of which, I hate to cut things short but I’m off to the cabin.  Could not be more excited for a little lay by the lake with Vogue kinda getaway.  Safe and happy long weekending, you crazy kids!

Our final day in Paris also happened to be the first day of their summer sale season.  Kismet?  I sure thought so!  Cee took us to Cafe St. Regis for breakfast and then we continued on into Le Marais for lots and lots of shopping!  We both ended up with goodies from Maje and even had a celebrity sighting when Liya Kebede walked past us and smiled (and she was in sweats and still looked absolutely stunning – ugh).  After a visit to the gorgeous Musee Carnavalet, Adam and I freshened up and made our way to Montmartre.  We walked the many stairs to see Sacré Cœur in all its glory and then had a positively delicious meal at L’Afghani.  It was a perfect last day in the city of love.
I know I’ve been taking my time with these vacation posts, but it’s so lovely to relive our travels months later.  Paris was such a dream come true, so glad we got to visit.  Up next is the South of France!

So, I already had this gorgeous  white RACHEL Rachel Roy dress from The Bay, all I needed was tickets to the ultra exclusive Dîner en Blanc Vancouver.   No problem, right?  Wrong!  I was just plain outta luck until our friends Jen and Remo stepped up and SAVED us by bringing Adam and I as their dates.  As the day approached, planning was crazy.  Tables had to be a certain measurement, I was stressing about place settings (and one unfortunate trip to Bowrings turned into me buying completely unnecessary but pretty dishware that Adam cursed me for when he had to carry it), and we had food to prepare.  You know how the pre-event stress is!  Anyway, the day rolls around and we all make our way to the meeting spot at David Lam Park and then load our things onto a bus.  Well, just a few minutes later we arrived at the waterfront to a Diner en Blanc at Science World.  We all set up shop and made fast friends with those around us.  Between the four of us, we had an absolute feast.  Somehow “will it be enough food?” always turns into a week of leftovers.  Though nothing beat the table down from us that had lobster and melted butter that they kept warm in a thermos!

There were traditions like the waving of your white cloth napkins to commence the dinner portion of the evening.  As well as the sparklers after everyone is done eating.  Since we were on the water, we all got a gorgeous sunset to add to an already visually stunning event.  And, just like anything you over prepare for, the whole evening went by in a flash.  I’m so happy that we were able to go, thank you again to the Pistors for bringing us!  Already can’t wait for the next DEB, especially since we now know what to expect and will be far more relaxed!

It’s like an online reality show and I just can’t stop reading about this dating experiment.
Looking outside at the grey sky and I’m pretty excited that I just purchased this beauty.

Extra, extra!  Some Deighton Cup Darlings in Framework Magazine.

I will not rest until these stunners are mine.

Okay but really, who else is excited for fall?

My blog crush this week is Tobruck Ave because she’s all kinds of amazing.

Happy Friday xo

Let’s take this Throwback Thursday all the way back to OSHEAGA!  Being the RACHEL Rachel Roy fashion correspondent was such a unique experience.  Dressed to impressed each day, meeting new people, scouting streetstyle, and handing out sweet coupons, all while enjoying amazing concerts at this country’s coolest festival?!  Best. Time. Evarrrr!  Was a delight meeting fellow RRR gals Erin from The Kit and Anik from Montreal In Style.  And the adventure wouldn’t have been complete with meeting up with Surinda and my pal Erin of Haus of Hybrid.  But let’s face it, I owe it all to those lovelies at NKPR.  Their campaigns are the creme de la creme of PR and I’m just grateful to be able to work with such an amazing team.
Also, a big huge thank you to everyone who entered the RACHEL Rachel Roy x Hudson’s Bay Giveaway.  The winners were Lien and Andrea of The Soulcialite – can’t wait to see what they choose!  As for the rest of you, I’ve got some more killer giveaways coming up so stay tuned.

While on one of my re-organizing fits, I found this forgotten old pair of sandals tucked behind some dust bunnies and other shoes. Just in time for the END of summer, but I’m still so happy that they’re back.  Discovering a once loved item from your closet is almost better than buying something brand new.  Almost.

I’m into any sort of excuse to get dressed up, especially when it’s for a fun day at the races!  I’ve always wanted to attend The Deighton Cup and was so happy to be in town for the big event this year.  Dug up my favourite fascinator, and old bridesmaids dress, borrowed some gloves, and made my way to Hastings Racecourse.  Hung out all day with the beautiful Jen, Alison, Leonie, Bria, Randa, Jill, and Michelle.  A big thanks to Lyndi for the invite, already planning my outfit for next year!

Hope you all had a great weekend xo

Sometimes a great city like Paris required you to go back to the basics and rock some simple black and white.  The trouble with our time there was the unusually cold weather.  Please note everyone in the above photo and how covered up they are.  But, you know what?  I suffered through it to look fabulous, because that’s what you do for fashion 😉
