I don’t mean to sound like a total idiot (well, this post is off to a GREAT start…), but I’m having trouble accessorizing since receiving the ring.  I just never realized how important matching was to me until now.  If it’s not silver, diamonds, or pearls, I can’t bring myself to wear it.  I’ve got a ton of gold accessories that are starting to collect dust!  Hoping this nonsense will pass soon, but in the meantime my wrists, fingers, and neck are going to remain quite bare.

Any tips on how to get over matching my jewellery?  Thanks lovelies xo

I had the same problem when I got my ring. In fact my own mother basically told me I could never wear yellow gold again because my ring is white gold (??!!). I think you just have to consider an engagement ring a "neutral" and wear whatever you would normally put on with an outfit.

I felt very similarly at first. But, then I just went for it and started wearing gold. However, I always keep my diamonds in white gold (earrings, bracelets, ect..) and if I'm doing an arm party than I wear it on the opposite hand and mix my metals. Hope that helps!! You look gorgeous by the way – love this outfit!!

I have definitely wondered about this. I only wear gold jewelry, but I feel like getting a gold wedding ring might look dated – like I feel like all of our mothers had gold wedding rings. But at the same time, it makes sense for me if I only wear gold! OH, my imaginary dilemma! Ha! But I think as someone mentioned above your ring must be looked at as a neutral (a sparkly, beautiful neutral) and just wear whatever else you please! CONGRATS again by the way! xo!

I love your print mixing. I don't wear a wedding ring but I do have issues with matching my jewelry so I understand what you must be going through.

I had this problem at the beginning too. I actually bought a mixed gold and silver watch. Funny enough, the mixed metal watch really helped me get over the whole mixing metals thing. It tied together my white gold engagement ring and my otherwise gold accessories very nicely.

I know, I felt the same way! But my watch is yellow gold and I wear it everyday so it was something I had to quickly get over. You'll find a way to mix metals that works best for you! 🙂

Love how you mixed prints with the cardigan and blouse.
And girl that ring is the best accessory !

Engagement rings are neutral! I am careful about what I wear on the left wrist now though. Also, I used to wear costume rings on my left hand… not anymore. You will break through the barrier eventually 🙂

I was so excited to hear of your engagement. Many congrats to you both xoxo
