hope you’re not sick of these pants, because apparently i went from being scared of coloured denim to fighting the urge to wear them every…single…day!  that’s the reality of my closet though.  no matter what, i always end up with a few favourites that get remixed more than others.

having a bit of a stretchy pants vs. real clothes battle right now thanks to my lack of gym visits lately.  the yoga pants are winning and i know that i just need to find the motivation to get back into a healthy fitness regime.  i’ve sorted out some goals for the next few months and fingers crossed that I can stick to it and start feeling good in my clothes again.

what do you do for exercise?  how do you stick to your routine?

love your blouse! i was in forever21 the other day and saw a super cute collared dress, coral, with bows on it. i love bows!

i am a runner! i just ran my first half marathon yesterday (bmo vancouver) and i am so sore today. however, it is so worth it! i am very proud of myself. for me it was finding something i LOVED. i didn't love running at first, but it has helped me lose & keep of 40 pounds, so that's reason enough to love it! plus it just makes me feel invincible and so accomplished.

i like to plan ahead in my fitness routine. i take rest days and listen to my body. yoga and strength training are also part of my routine, so i switch that up with running πŸ™‚

I'm training for tough mudder right now, and while living in a hotel makes it a bit difficult to eat well (no kitchen, no fridge) I think I'm doing alright.
I rock climb most days at lunch, hit the gym a few times a week, run, and do taekwondo.
(If you ever feel like going to the gym, I could always use a gym pal at one of the Steve Nash Gyms)
How do I stick to it? Well tough mudder is 16km long and I know that if I don't train, I won't be able to complete it.

Love the colored pants! You are stunning! I've been looking for a good pair of colored deneim for a month. Make a fitness vision board, with pictures and positive words. Put it in on the mirror in your bathroom or somewhere you will see it everyday (maybe as your computer wallpaper;). When you see it everyday its harder to make excuses! Good luck!

God damn girl, it's ridiculous how beautiful you are. That first photo is stunning! Not gonna lie, that first part of my comment made me sound like a dude, I don't know why! xo

Love your bow print top! I'm obsessed with bows right now. The orange jeans are great!

  • Emma May 8, 2012 at 12:22 am

Love your red pants! I bought mint coloured jeans a few months ago (my first pair of coloured pants), and have bought two more pairs (red and pink) since!! Definitely hard to stay away from them πŸ™‚

I used to go to hot yoga 6 days a week, and 1.5 hours each time. It was excellent, and I kept that up for a month…I keep meaning to go back….but don't. :S

I love that adorable bow print top – it's perfect with the colorful pants! I try to work out 5 days a week (a mix of cardio and weight training) and hit the gym for a good hour session at least one of those days. I also walk everywhere because I'm in a small university town with no car and walking is the most convenient way to get around. I'm also in university so free gym access. I'm a little worried how I'll keep it up after I graduate in a few weeks…

Really pretty outfit! You are gorgeous! I try on colored denim almost every time I am in a shop however they never seem to look right on me … I exercise just about every day (3-4x a gym and 3 at home). Wanna know my motivation other then being a healthy example to my three girls? Definitely fashion!

  • Marisa May 8, 2012 at 1:40 am

Yay for coloured trousers! So glad you're enjoying them because they look great on you! As for work-outs, I am addicted to The Bar Method. You may like it because you danced, right? I also do Zumba. I try to not to make any goals that I can't keep, like working out 5x a week. If I do 3x a week that's good for me.

So gorgeous, Alicia. I don't blame you for wearing those pants so often – they look great with all the outfits you've shown so far. As for exercise, my fave is Zumba. It's a ton of fun!

Firstly I LOVE how you styled your jeans here – you seriously have such a gorgeous sense of style, girly!! As for working out?! Well, lately I've been so bad… wine, ice-cream, and sitting on my butt is all I seem to be doing. Boo, plus working from home does not help. Fingers crossed, I too get back in the fitness groove. xo

Definitely not sick of the coloured jeans – I'm so into them myself! They look great paired with a patterned top. And good luck with your fitness goals! I'm trying to get into a healthy routine at the moment too πŸ™‚

  • Leonie May 8, 2012 at 7:05 am

I am all for just wearing your favorite items as often as you want… Why wouldn't you?! πŸ™‚ I think the colored denim looks great on you and paired blouse and jacket you've created such a fun look. Lovely!

As for exercising… Well… I don't do anything. I always intend to go to the gym but I just really hate it, it's so boring! I love to dance, but unfortunately don't have the funds to take classes at the moment. Hopefully soon though!

I stick to my routine by not stepping on the scale and realizing that there are so many more benefits to working out than just losing weight. If you start thinking of exercise as only a goal to lose weight your going to lose the battle. For me I feel better, I can think clearer and just by exercising even if i dont lose a pound, I feel good about myself. For exercise itself, I do different things everyday. Spinning class, Running (outside, cant stand treadmill ugh!) Insanity videos, Abs diet Videos, I try to do a lot of interval training – max calories, less time!! Also drink lots of water!!

Love this look. I let my gym go slack for FAR too long but this last two weeks I have started Pilates and joined back at the gym. I joined a scruffy, smelly gym (my last one was far TOO flashy in comparison) but I chose this new scruffter gym in a way to make it easier for me to go – free city parking and my best friend goes there too. So far, so good. Good luck with getting into your routine πŸ™‚

Love how you pulled the look together with a silver belt and a pair of coloured pants!

  • Jennifer May 9, 2012 at 8:03 pm

Sticking to an exercise routine is really hard. You literally have to just do it. I do it best if I do it in the morning. I go to the 6am classes at the gym so my alarm goes off at 5:30 and although I want to kill myself, I just get up without even thinking about it. It's hard but once you start, it will feel natural. Good luck girly!

I think you look gorgeous. There is nothing wrong with having a few curves. It's a shame a woman's curves ain't embraced today.
