Socially Acceptable Sweatpants

The story behind these pants goes like this.  I was in London for a few days in May 2013 (man, has it really been that long?) for a press trip with Boohoo, which I was generously able to extend my stay by a few extra days.   I’ll never forget how unseasonably cold it was for May, everyone was wearing winter coats and blanket scarves and I basically shivered for an entire week.  Being amongst a fashionable crowd and not having temperature appropriate things meant that I basically hated EVERY single thing I’d packed.  The worst!  This classic equation meant a ton of emergency shopping trips and impulse purchases.  I grabbed these cozy black harem pants at River Island, since I managed to not bring anything comfortable.  Unfortunately for me, these are made with a really thin fabric that, with a cold wind, basically feel like not wearing pants at all.  Which sure, was inconvenient at the time, but now I couldn’t be happier about them!  Wearing these now is like being allowed to wear big “stylish” sweatpants out in public.  Kind of a dream come true, in trouser form!
