It seems silly, but I was really nervous to tie this button up around my waist. Something I probably haven’t done since 1998, it’s a current look that I knew I had to try. The verdict? Super cozy and somehow still feels slightly chic. It was a nice way to also work a Canadian tuxedo into the wardrobe this week because that just seems necessary every once in a while! Hope you’re all having a wonderful day xo
As you saw in our #RobsonLife recap, we had a great time browsing around Robson Street in search of the perfect spring outfit. I’m currently adoring all the bright, fresh whites and pastels this season has to offer, so I was looking for an example of that trend that would work for me. Separates are usually best, especially in my wardrobe because they get the most mileage. I completely surprised myself when I ended up choosing this blush pink faux leather Club Monaco skirt first and built an outfit around that. I was then drawn to the detailing on this Aritzia blouse and love that I can tuck it into a skirt or pair it with some skinny jeans. It’s so versatile, I know it’s going to be a staple piece. For footwear, I went with these super fun Call It Spring iridescent heels and topped things off with a black faux leather jacket for a bit of contrast. Favourite spring look, complete!
And now, my friends, as promised you will also get the chance to go shop on Robson Street and test out the #RobsonLife for yourself! You’ll be entered to WIN a $100 Aritzia gift card if you…

P.S. You should probably follow @aliciafashionista on instagram while you’re at it 😉
I think that being back in an office is the perfect excuse to sport my favourite wide-leg trousers. There’s something so empowering about walking around the city in a business casual attire. Especially with sunglasses on and a coffee in hand. Gosh, I missed it!
I’m about ready to retire these tights and take my winter jackets to the dry cleaners aka my favourite way to say au revoir to winter! I am just itching to go shopping for pastels and florals and bright whites. In fact, I’m heading to Robson Street tomorrow to do a little credit card damage. I can hear Zara, Club Monaco, and J.Crew calling my name!

Nothing says the first day of Spring like nautical. NOTHING. Except maybe pastels. And cherry blossoms. And probably Easter. But really, standing by the pool in Florida in navy stripes and a red jacket is for suuuure a decent representation. Despite being a little grainy, I’m glad Alex and I were able to snap a couple pics that night. The purple sky was spectacular.
Soooo it turns out that I get two weeks off teaching dance (yes, I’m also a dance teacher once a week because I take the phrase “wears many hats” very literally) for spring break. This left us with an open weekend and a need to travel. We’re heading to Portland after work tomorrow because it is one of our favourite cities and because its been three years since our last visit. So be sure to follow along on insta @aliciafashionista #AFxPortland and @themadadub. I’ll warn you in advance though, that there will be photos of delicious Stumptown Coffee and Voodoo Doughnuts. Just saying.
There was no way yesterday’s rain was going to keep me indoors again. I had one of those hermit weekends where I sat on the couch for most of it and ate more chocolate than I’d like to admit. I think we all need those every once in a while. Adam was away on a guy’s weekend at the cabin, so when he returned yesterday morning, I threw on my favourite P L E N + Y basics and we went for brunch. There’s a vegetarian place just off South Granville called Heirloom. We hadn’t been in a while and I forgot just how delicious their food is! Highly recommend.
After brunching, I made a quick stop at West Elm to purchase this lamp for my new office because, it was a must! Then, we picked up my brother and the three of us drove down to Bellingham to see Brian Regan’s live comedy show. If you don’t know his stuff, you can see his Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee feature here, and one of my favourite bits about flying here. Don’t want to hype him up too much, but he’s hilarious!! Enjoy 🙂
I think we all just need a little more tulle in our lives! And man oh man, does it ever make me want to twirl around the room. I almost have to refrain from ballet dancing my way through life whilst wearing this darling skirt. I thought I’d pair it with some pretty pastels this time around, as we all know that spring is merely days away! Which also means that I could anchor the entire look with my burgundy J.Crew suede heels. Found those beauties majorly on sale – and nothing makes me happier than finding items I love at a reduced price.
For the very first time in maaaany moons, I was able to leave my winter coat at home. Sure, once the sun finally went down I was a a little chilly, but let me tell you – it was totally worth it! These longer days (thank you, daylight savings) have me so extra excited for spring, I can’t stop shopping!
This particular jacket was from a recent shopping adventure and actually, my very FIRST time in Oakridge mall. Which, I’m pretty sure for a “fashionista” in Vancouver is borderline criminal? Anyway, I found the most adorable boutique called Judith & Charles and was instantly smitten. I felt as though I’d been transported to Paris. Surrounding me was beautiful tailoring with clean lines, feminine cuts, and just really stand out investment pieces. And that’s what I’m all about lately. I’d rather be spending my money on a well-made piece that’s going to last, than 5 pieces that I don’t care much about and usually ending up selling within a few years. Right?!
And lucky for you, that investment might be even easier to make at Judith & Charles! We’ll be announcing a sweet giveaway tomorrow – stay tuned!
OH MY GOD I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PUBLISH THIS SINCE WEDNESDAY! Sorry to Kanye, but what a week. Who knew that all I needed to complete this was a glass of bubbly and some hermit time?! Business is out of control awesome at the moment, which I love so much but man is it all consuming. Nothing to worry your pretty little selves about, I’ve got tons of great content coming your way next week! So go have yourselves a wonderful weekend, and we’ll meet back here on Monday morning 🙂
P.S. These photos are by Kaoverii Marapon for my interview on Wanderluxe. Go check it out if you haven’t already!
P.P.S Gotta give a HAPPY BIRTHDAY shoutout to (in my completely biased opinion) the best mama in the whole world!
