I literally want to dive into these photos and attack my blouse with an iron. My steamer has conveniently broken down, and I keep venturing into the world with less than presentable clothing. Maybe it “adds character” to my wardrobe? That’s a bit of a stretch, I think I’d be better off just getting the darn steamer fixed.
Anyway, I’m trying my best to ease into this Monday after an amazing weekend. Went to my cousin’s wedding on Friday and had a stellar dance party with the whole family. Then Adam and I spent Saturday on a sailboat for the Easter Seals Regatta and we now understand the obsession with sailing. Could definitely get used to the sailboat life. That night we had a delicious Mexican feast (tequila included, of course) with friends at La Mezcaleria on The Drive. Sunday was filled with the necessary work/chores and the grand finale was a patio BBQ with friends. I mean, can’t really get much better than that! Plus, keeping busy helped me deal with my Squamish Fest FOMO. How was your weekend?
P.S. Thanks so much to Vitamin Daily for the awesome feature! Find out my Vancouver faves and oh-so-much more HERE.
Like most things in life, I can get sucked into familiarity, especially when it comes to fashion. I find something that works and end up essentially recreating the same look with different pieces. I’ve recently been making a conscious effort to change my ways. Exibit A: Left the blouse un-tucked therefore loosing my waistline but gaining a new silhouette. Exibit B: Gave my feet a break and rocked flats instead of heels. The verdict: It’s so fun to branch out. Change is good!

No need to adjust your computer screen. It’s true – I’m baring my midriff. In public…in daylight. The very last fashion trend in the entire world that I ever thought I’d be able to pull off. I’m here, my friends, to show you that curvy girls can wear crop tops too. And it’s so darn liberating! It’s like na-na na-na boo-boo to a world that’s always told me I can’t show my mid section unless it’s super model flat or has perfectly sculpted abs. Ain’t nobody got time for that! I choose to go ahead and rock the crop top look, now who’s with me?!
This Saturday is one of the highlights of summer in Vancouver, The Deighton Cup. Not to get all Julie Andrews on you, but The Deighton Cup just so happens to combine a few of my favourite things. Dressing up, dressing up in a theme, day drinking, and the possibility of leaving with more money that what you arrived with. What’s not to love about a good ol’ fashioned day at the races?!
We had such a blast last year and I’ve been thinking about outfit ideas ever since. I’ve teamed up with LOFT to bring you a look that’d be perfect for The Deighton Cup this Saturday. A feminine dress with a statement hat/fascinator and lots of accessories. It’s simple, elegant, and I adore that this dress can be worn again. It’s all about investing in versatile pieces for the wardrobe. Looking for more inspiration? Be sure to check out To Vogue Or Bust and Her Waise Choice to see their beautiful Deighton Cup looks!
