day 9 // money talks

Our first order of business is that a miracle has occurred. I checked my bank account yesterday and there was EXTRA money there. I barely know what extra money means, especially when I’m not going to turn around and spend it all on new shoes (you mean, I just let money sit in my account? I can have a Visa that is paid off?). I haven’t made any drastic changes. I’ve simply refrained from shopping for 2 months and I’ve cut way back on eating out at lunch break and dinner, but that was for health reasons as well.

Remixing my own wardrobe has been surprisingly easy so far. I’m learning to love everything in my closet and getting rid of those items that I scrunch my face and frown at. This challenge is becoming a means of making sure I’m not a total trend whore and buying everything that’s “cool” right now. I want to look put together, without being poor. If that even makes any sense?

As a side note, this jacquard scarf has beautiful rich colours in it and was astonished when my mom gave it to me unopened because she never wore it. One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure! This is one of my wardrobe favourites right now; I bet all my other scarves are soooo jealous.

Oh I adore that feeling of finding out you have money you had no idea! After reading this I'm getting more and more into the idea of joining 30 for 30 next time, It might be helpful for my finances and challenging for my brains! … Loved the outfit, the scarf is the total star, and so in love with your hair, do you style it yourself?

Gorgeous scarf! Seriously! The intricate details are glorious!!

I know exactly what you mean, I recently found money (SURPRISE!) in my bank account too! I have been cutting back eating out (hard when you're lazy in the am, and you work in downtown) but it's so much better. I feel somewhat less bloated and richer! WIN!

Can't wait for the the other 21 days!

Ooooh very pretty scarf! I love how crisp and clean this outfit is (and I may have an obsession with the black and white).

I've been doing better with money too (woot!) but are you finding that yoga is sucking money out of you? Or is that just me? Haha!

I love this look! You've been doing such a great job with your 30 day challenge, but this one might be my favorite so far. I've been trying to save money lately too, and its a nice feeling to have money in the bank. Plus, you're right, its kind of fun to shop my own closet.

I adore this outfit! It's making my lust for a cute little black skirt even greater, jeeze alicia!
And I totally think that it actually refines your personal style to go with out shopping and trends…well for a little bit at least. You get a chance to be creative with what you have in your current wardrobe and find what's "you". Looking gorgeous here lady xx
