The Glossier Products I’m Obsessed With

glossier, no makeup look, what to get at glossier

What the heck is Glossier and why is everyone talking about it?

NOTE: This is not sponsored or affiliated Glossier at all. I’m just a fan! This post does, however, contain affiliate links.

I know that some of you have been Glossier supporters for years, and rightly so. Me?  I was a huge snob, ignoring all the buzz about it and not bothering to understand what made it different than any other beauty brand. But, last month I was listening to the episode of How I Built This with Emily Weiss and learned her story. I was very intrigued by the concept of a cosmetics brand that was powered by the people, so on my first day in New York City, my gal pals and I beelined it for the Glossier flagship store.

You all know my love for a natural, no makeup makeup look and you guys, GLOSSIER WAS PRETTY MUCH MADE FOR ME WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

The store itself was incredible, the experience is a must if you’re ever in LA or NYC, or if they pop up in your city. Also, the price points were better than I’d imagined. It’s a miracle that I didn’t leave with one of everything, honestly.

What I love about the products that Glossier is creating, is that they’re very light, but most are super buildable. The following 4 products are ones that I’ve seamlessly added to my everyday makeup routine and have been using daily for a month now. They are:

Glossier Boy Brow in Brown

The hype for Boy Brow was so real that I was determined to hate it. Yet, there I was in the Glossier store, putting it on and instantly falling in love. This is my first time using eyebrow mascara of any kind, but I have to say, I love the texture it creates. I still apply my usual brow powder underneath, but then the Boy Brow adds volume and my brows end up with the perfect amount of fullness.

Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium

This was the product that I was most excited for since I’m always on the lookout for a great concealer and I’d heard positive things. In the store, I see that they’re sold out of every single shade (which, I now know is because they launched an entirely new range days later), so I was beyond disappointed. The darling angel who was helping me hooked a girl up and snuck me a bottle of the medium shade and I am SO grateful to her for that. I have been using it every day, but my only complaint is that it has really cool undertones, which doesn’t exactly help my dark undereye spots. I build it up a little and apply it under my tinted moisturizer and that has been working well. Also, because I adore the stretch concealer, I am ordering the new G9 shade, which is a warm medium! Might get the Skin Tint while I’m at it because they have a great deal on the combo purchase. Have you used the Skin Tint? Any feedback is appreciated before I buy.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk

The cloud paint is a cream blush and this Dusk shade is a particularly brownish nude colour. It’s great for more of a brown blush or contour. I have also been using it on my eyes and it’s gorgeous! The nude/pink hues shine through on the lids and creates a gorgeous eyeshadow. My friend Alex has green eyes and when she tried the Cloud Paint in Dusk on her lids, her eye colour popped so much, it was insane!

Glossier Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick in Cake

This is a VERY subtle shade on me, but it makes all the difference. Again, I really appreciate looking like I have little to no makeup on, and this shade definitely does it for me. While in the store, both of the friends I was with put this lipstick on as well and it looked so different but also fabulous on all three of us!

I should also mention that I regret not getting the Haloscope Highlighter because I’ve heard it’s dope, as well as the Invisible Shield Sunscreen because apparently, you can’t order it online to Canada. Maybe I’ll have to add more to my next order and do more Glossier reviews 😉

Now spill the tea, do you love Glossier? And if so, which product(s) is/are a must-have? Let me know in the comments below!

I’ve been thinking about trying their Generation G lip color, however I heard a couple things and would love your take! (1) It wears off like a normal tinted balm so isn’t terribly “long-lasting” and (2) the cap and/or lip color falls off easily.

I agree with the first point completely, I wouldn’t say it’s long lasting. Being so cold, I’ve also been wearing it over chapstick so it comes off extra easily (probably not recommended, but this cold snap leaves me with no choice haha). As for the cap, I haven’t had any problems yet but I’ve only had it for a month! Which colour are you interested in?

        Cake! 😀

Their milky jelly cleanser!!! Best. Takes off your makeup without making your skin feel like it’s been stripped of all its oils.
Tbh the halo scope is just ok. It doesn’t have much pigment. You can find a better highlighter from Anastasia.

Tbh I’m definately not their customer as I like the makeup look oppose to no makeup look but I still wanted to try a couple things. The only thing I swear by is theirs invisible shield sunscreen cuz u just don’t feel it like most sunscreens. It’s so good. I also got the bom.com skin salve and I just don’t get it, don’t love it. Also, I ship it to a US box in Blaine which is how I ordered 🙂

I love Wowder! I’ve been using it for ages and it’s great. The Milky Jelly Cleanser is also really nice.
