Christmas On Grouse

December 24, 2015

grouse mountain, north shore mountains, what to do on grouse

Hands down, the best decision I’ve made so far this holiday season.  To Vogue Or Bust (I promise I use her first name in real life…) and I went up to Grouse Mountain for a morning chock full of Christmas fun.  So much to do, so much to see, and we didn’t even ski!  Sorry for the rhyme, the holiday spirit is strong with me today, my friends.

Hooray for Christmas Eve Eve!  One of my personal favourite days of the year, I love that hustle and bustle of December 23rd.  Minus all the grinches and scrooges, everyone else is joyous and excited for Christmas Day.  My own to-do list for today is a lengthy one, as our family celebrations begin tonight.  It’s a real balancing act around the holidays when you combine families, I tell ya!

Eat, Drink, And Be Cozy

December 21, 2015

indigo holiday favourites, alicia fashionista, vancouver lifestyle blog

Currently wearing a onesie, siting on the couch, and in complete denial that it’s Monday.  Anyone else feeling unusually exhausted right now?  Is it this winter solstice business, or just the usual holiday craziness?  I’m also slightly trapped at home today because I’m waiting on a very important package to arrive in time for Christmas (fingers crossed).  Also, and this might sound extra silly, but I’m growing out my brows and look like an unkept beast from the wild.  So, until my much anticipated brow shaping appointment tomorrow morning, I pretty much refuse to show my face to the world.  Totally serious!  If you’ve gone through this before, you understand the severity of the situation.

Unique Holiday Gift Ideas

December 18, 2015

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of buying people gifts that aren’t really a big surprise.  I LOVE the excitement of watching someone open a present that I am over the moon pumped for them to receive.  As the years go by, Christmas has lost its spirit a little bit, and it can feel like we’re all just racing over to the mall to get them SOMETHING to fill their stocking or put under the tree.  We’re being so silly!  I was lucky enough that this year (earmuffs Mom, Dad, Elaine, and Derek) to have a built-in thoughtful gift for all our parents.  I made them Artifact Uprising photo books from our wedding with our amazing snaps by Shari and Mike.  But, for the rest of y’all I wanted to pass on some really different gift ideas from the internet that can, for the most part, be done online!  Happy shopping 🙂

Winter Floral Frock

December 17, 2015

winter florals

You know how it’s kind of a rule of thumb that everything breaks down at once?  Well, this is soooo of the time, but everything in my life is overflowing.  What does this mean, exactly?  Well, the iCloud is over capacity, which with the amount of photos and video that I take, is no surprise to anyone.  I also have to spend a bit of time each day deleting things on my computer because my Mac’s startup disc is full.  This means, unfortunately, that I can’t back up my phone because the cloud is too full and my computer has no room, which has stalled me from switching my cracked iPhone for my new replacement iPhone.  This wasn’t enough for me to feel like a technology hoarder though, so my Gmail has now informed me that I’m over capacity and will need to pay from now on unless I delete, delete, delete!  Those ignored SPAM messages sure catch up to ya, don’t they?!  Now you know what I’ll be doing for the next few weeks.  The great technology purge/backup of 2015!  Exciting stuff, AMIRIGHT?!

Capital One Aspire Travel Rewards

capital one aspire travel rewards, how to travel more, best travel blog

You guys, I have the travel bug in a major way.  My recent time in Italy has completely ruined me and now all I can think about is how to catch a flight and see the world!  I am, of course, faced with the usual unbalance of having the same amount of disposable income, but a greater desire to spend money on travel.  There just might be a solution though!  I was very recently introduced to the beautiful concept of travel rewards cards, and the idea is so simple.  So beneficial.  So adult.  Anything that provides benefits to money that would be spent anyway, seems like a no brainer.

indigo holiday 2015 favourites

The Indigo obsession continues with their holiday collection.  I think I spent a good couple of hours in there yesterday, getting a book for everyone on my Christmas list (spoiler alert) and picking up some new reads for myself.  I’m especially excited to read The Girl On The Train and Furiously Happy over the holidays/on our upcoming trip.  What’s on your reading list this winter?

I’ve teamed up with To Vogue Or Bust to bring you our favourite Indigo book and decor items from their holiday collection and beyond.  Be sure to read on for all the juicy details!

Snow Em Gee

Another day, another glorious pun.  This one I fully admit was stolen from a terrible Christmas movie that I had on in the background yesterday.  We’ve had the W Network going strong, so it’s all made-for-tv holiday movies at our place, all the time!
